Arden University deal takes The Spark to full occupancy
The educational provider will move into 27,095 sq ft across the lower four floors this spring, filling up the Legal & General-owned Newcastle office building.
Joint agents Savills and Avison Young agreed the deal for L&G.
Located at the heart of Newcastle Helix, The Spark forms part of a 24-acre mixed-use innovation district delivered through a partnership between Newcastle City Council, L&G and Newcastle University.
Arden University, a provider of blended and online distance learning courses, has become an important player in regional UK office markets.
The organisation was responsible for 2023’s largest Manchester office letting, with 43,000 sq ft at Spinningfields, adding a further 12,600 sq ft a year later.
Savills director Greg Davison said: “Completing the final letting at The Spark is a fantastic result and demonstrates the depth of occupier demand for high-quality workspace at Newcastle Helix. Securing Arden University as the final occupier is a fitting conclusion to the successful leasing of this flagship building.”
