Bellway North East appoints commercial director
Jordan Harris will be located at the housebuilder’s Gateshead office and will oversee the delivery of new homes in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, and County Durham.
A Yorkshire native, Harris began his career by studying for a National Diploma in Construction straight from school and going on to complete a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management at the University of Bolton, graduating in 2012.
He started out as a quantity surveyor with Keith Walton Brickwork, followed by nine years at Keepmoat where he progressed to become commercial manager.
He joins Bellway from Gleeson Homes, where he was commercial director.
His role will cover budgeting, strategising, and procurement from land acquisition to the final stages on site.
He said: “I’ve always had a passion for housing in the sense of wanting to create a community and that excites me. It goes from a piece of land to a community with someone pushing a pram along the street.
“A lot of hours go into it and it’s rewarding to know that we have played a strong part in it. You can drive past in 10 years’ time and say, ‘I was involved in that’.”
