Chit ‘n’ Chaat chooses Eldon Square for North East debut

The Indian street food restaurant is taking a 3,000 sq ft unit at the shopping centre, and will be its first Indian cuisine F&B offering.

This will be the brand’s seventh site and will open this winter.

The deal marks the second one between Eldon Square’s asset manager Pradera Lateral and Chit ‘n’ Chaat, following the opening of its restaurant at the Trafford Centre’s Eastern Garden in 2024.

Chit ‘n’ Chaat will add to the brands arriving in Eldon Square in the coming months, with the likes of leisure brands Flight Club and Freight Island also set to open shortly.

Kitty Vaughan, head of UK leisure and F&B leasing at Pradera Lateral, said: “The arrival of Chit ‘n’ Chaat is an exciting addition to Eldon Square and aligns perfectly with our vision to offer a diverse and vibrant dining experience for our visitors.

“As Eldon Square continues a bold growth journey, new openings like this play a vital role in reinvigorating the centre and bringing diverse options to our customers.”

Sagar Modha, co-founder of Chit ‘n’ Chaat, commented: “Eldon Square is at the heart of Newcastle city centre and is one of the UK’s most vibrant shopping and leisure destinations.

“Its diverse customer base, high footfall and family-friendly environment make it the perfect location for Chit ‘n’ Chaat’s first North East restaurant.”
