Cluttons brings in MacCabe

Phil MacCabe will return to the property consultant, taking up a position in the Newcastle office as client relationship partner in the digital infrastructure team.

MacCabe will play a key role in growing the company’s digital infrastructure offer as a core area of the business strategy, Cluttons said.

He returns to the firm where he previously spent nine years, before leaving to take a post as senior asset manager at comms firm Liberty Global. In his initial Cluttons stint, MacCabe started as a surveyor and latterly worked as head of infrastructure transaction management.

Cluttons signed a new lease at Portland House in Newcastle last month.

The firm said it expects digital infrastructure to be front and centre as the new Labour government’s overhauled National Policy Planning Framework takes shape.

MacCabe said “It’s exciting to be returning to Cluttons as the company’s bold growth strategy builds momentum.

“Digital infrastructure is critical for the UK in the move towards the Government’s 2030 connectivity targets and Cluttons is well positioned to advise clients on those evolving needs of the future.

“For the UK to compete on a global stage and move up the connectivity rankings, we need to modernise the physical and digital infrastructure that companies need to succeed.”

Cluttons’ managing director John Gravett added: “Growing our already strong capability in this area is a priority for the business and this hire is a direct reflection of that commitment to developing the most talented team in the digital infrastructure sector.

“Philip will bring great dynamism and energy to our new Newcastle team, which is already establishing a strong reputation for providing outstanding client services in the region.”

Cluttons describes itself as the UK’s first true real assets advisory business, working beyond the parameters of bricks and mortar to ensure assets perform exceptionally in terms of connectivity.

The firm now employs more than 250 people across 10 UK offices, offering service lines such as infrastructure and energy as well as estates and lending.
