Durham NHS trust awards FM contract

Robertson Facilities Management has been selected for the delivery of hard services at the University Hospital of North Durham, a contract that will run until March 2028.

Following a competitive tender, RFM concluded contract documents and has now replaced the previous services provider. The team will provide a range of estate services for the 450-bed acute hospital.

Consort, which is the PFI partner of the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, selected RFM following a re-tender process and market test.

Adrian Mole, managing director, Robertson Facilities Management, said: “As the selected delivery partner for Estates services, our concentration is on providing first-class services provision on behalf of Consort for the NHS, allowing the hospital to focus on delivering patient services.

“We look forward to a positive relationship with Consort in providing Estates services for the NHS.”

RFM said that it is building a strong presence and reputation for service provision within the healthcare sector. This is the second project secured for the NHS in the past year, following an appointment by the NHS Business Services Authority.

RFM has now welcomed the employees of the previous provider under a transfer of undertakings (TUPE) arrangement.

Mole concluded: “Team Robertson has benefited from the addition of the existing North Durham team, who have brought with them a wealth of experience and knowledge of the hospital.”
