Flight Club takes off in Newcastle
The darts bar has announced its opening date for Eldon Square, its debut North East offering, and will move into the former Red’s True Barbeque site fronting Nelson Street.
The brand will launch in Newcastle on 7 November, marking its 14th venue in the UK having been founded in London a decade ago.
Design ID and Ellis Design Studios worked on the project, alongside 3 Interiors.
The interior is ‘fairground-inspired’, with carnival-style lights and carousel horses alongside the social games on offer, and has features like a steel and timber support structure for the helter-skelter entrance stair, and a canopy over one of the bars.
Steve Moore, CEO and co-founder of Flight Club, said, “We are so excited to be making our way to the incredible city of Newcastle. It’s no secret that Newcastle knows how to throw an epic party, and at Flight Club, we pride ourselves on perfecting the art of the unforgettable night out.”
Helen Cowie, centre director, Eldon Square, said, “The opening of Flight Club in Eldon Square has been long anticipated, and we can’t wait for them to open their fabulous new venue in November.
“This much-loved brand is a perfect addition to the Newcastle social scene, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people to the centre to enjoy this unmissable experience.”
It comes as Eldon Square also readies itself for the opening of Freight Island in autumn, which is taking over the former Debenhams store and will feature a rooftop bar and music venue.
