Liverpool, Newcastle hotels hit market for £7.5m
The freehold and the long leasehold for Kabannas hotels in the two popular visitor destination cities are up for grabs, with the properties providing a total of 449 bed spaces between them.
Kabannas Liverpool sits at 27 Mathew Street in the city’s Cavern Quarter. With 48 bedrooms, the 216 bed space hotel has a guide price of £4.5m for its freehold. This is nearly three times the £1.6m owner JSM Property paid for the property in August 2019, according to HM Land Registry Data.
Kabannas Liverpool is 28,800 sq ft, spans seven floors, and includes a multi-level bar and restaurant with karaoke room and arcade machines. The property underwent a £630,000 refurbishment in 2024.

The Newcastle Kabannas sits at 17 Carliol Square. The long leasehold’s guide price is £3m. Like its Liverpool companion, it underwent a refurbishment in 2024 – this time to the tune of £250,000.
The 28,100 sq ft complex boasts 52 bedrooms with a total of 233 bed spaces. It spans five floors, including a basement. The Kabin Bar occupies its ground floor.
Christie & Co is marketing both properties, which are available in a package deal or separately.
“We are delighted to be instructed to market two superb hotel properties in Liverpool and Newcastle city centres, they are very well established businesses and are for sale as going concerns,” said David Lee, regional director of hotels at Christie & Co.
“They do however offer alternative uses should that be of interest to a potential purchaser.,” he said.
“The opportunity to purchase a good-sized property in either Liverpool or Newcastle city centre rarely becomes available so we are anticipating significant demand.”
