Miller submits South Bank plans
The housebuilder has applied for the final phase of a major residential development at Low Grange Farm near Middlesbrough, bringing forward a further 165 homes as part of a wider Teesside scheme.
The reserved matters application, prepared by QAD Architects and supported by ELG Planning, is for phase three of the Portside Village development. It sits within an outline consent for up to 1,250 homes across the wider site.
If approved, the latest phase will complete the build-out of the masterplan, following two earlier phases that are already under construction. Phase one is delivering 300 homes, while phase two is adding a further 393, bringing the total completed or underway to 693 homes.
The full development site extends to around 79 acres, with phase three covering approximately 18 acres.
The site lies on the eastern edge of Middlesbrough, around two miles from the town centre and adjacent to the A66, with existing residential development to the west.
This final phase will deliver a mix of two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes, with the development designed to integrate with surrounding residential areas and the wider South Bank regeneration zone.
The remaining site is largely open grassland, currently screened from the A66 by existing trees and hedgerows.
Once complete, the Portside Village scheme will deliver 858 new homes in total, forming one of the larger residential developments currently progressing in the Middlesbrough area.
