Almost four years on from announcing the project, Northumberland Council has released an image showing the future design of the theatre ahead of a planning application being submitted. 

The construction arm of the Yorkshire-headquartered group has taken 2,000 sq ft in Durham as it looks to expand into the region, broadening its already well-established North West and Yorkshire presence. 

Newsham Station in Blyth will be up and running on Monday, 17 March, allowing passengers to travel to Newcastle in 21 minutes.

The site is currently a one-acre, 100-space private car park that serves the neighbouring University Hospital of North Durham, although Clegram Holdings has its eye on turning the site into a four-five storey block that would support the nearby university. 

The construction firm’s managing director Paul Dodsworth chatted to Place North West about its expansion plans, thriving in a volatile market, and why the company is going to MIPIM 2025.

Phase six of the Burton Woods, Spennymoor development will have up to 200 affordable homes, with plans set to go before the council on Wednesday.
