Persimmon goes again in Hartlepool
The housebuilder’s plans for 70 homes on a former reservoir off Hart Lane are up for approval once more at Hartlepool’s next planning meeting.
Considered back in March, a decision was deferred so that a site visit could be arranged. Persimmon itself then asked for the scheme to be removed from April’s agenda, so that it could make amends.
Back in front of the council next week, the changes made largely focus around the siting of plots, with 16 adjusted to create more space between them.
Other amendments are geared towards landscaping, with a hedge added along the southern boundary, the incorporation of a kissing gate at the southern access point, and fencing and landscaping amended throughout.
The 10-acre plot of land in has two disused reservoirs, which were drained in 2019 and have been infilled.
Persimmon’s plans focus on the smaller reservoir land and comprise 46 four-bedroom and 24 five-bedroom homes.
The open space in the development will include tree-lined streets and a children’s play area, and some reservoir features are set to be preserved, such as a spillway and a tower.
