Regents Farm First School rebuild set for green light

Newcastle City Council will consider proposals for the construction of a two-storey building and demolition of existing facilities at its meeting on 31 October.

Located on Wansbeck Road South, the project is being delivered by Bowmer + Kirkland on behalf of the Department for Education, with the project team also including Ryder Architecture, DPP Planning, and One Environments.

Plans include a two-storey structure to replace the several buildings that currently exist, along with associated car parking, sports pitches, a mutli-use games area, hard and soft landscaping, and a new access point from the main road.

The new school will continue to accommodate 300 students and 36 staff, and will be built next to the current main building on what is now a play area, school forest, and part of the grass playing field.

Following construction of the new school, the existing buildings would be demolished with exception of a modular classroom building.
