Treetop Golf opens at Metrocentre
The mini-golf venue operator has opened its fifth UK destination at the Gateshead shopping complex.
Situated in the Upper Qube of the Metrocentre, the development reflects a major trend ibn the mall industry to introduce more leisure uses to their sites.
Treetop Golf Metrocentre offers two courses with different themes, each offering the chance to win a free 18-hole trek on the bonus 19th hole, which also includes a photo booth as part of the offer.
The venue also includes The Market bar and restaurant, offering food and drink in collaboration with local suppliers including Full Circle Brew Co, Pink Lane Coffee Collective and Cake Stories.
Elizabeth Stanway, chief executive and co-founder of Treetop Golf, said: “We’re here for everyone – from family days out to student hangouts, date nights, work get-togethers and celebrations.
“We can’t wait to transport our guests to another place, for them to experience wonder and play and make special memories together.”
Ben Cox, senior asset manager at Metrocentre operator Sovereign Centros, added: “The arrival of Treetop Golf adds another exciting dimension to the offer at Metrocentre, which has further strengthened in recent weeks since the opening of the region’s only Zara.
“We are also getting ready to open the doors on flagship stores for Flannels, Sports Direct and Everlast Gym this November reinforcing our position as the dominant location for shopping and leisure in the North East.”
