VB Turnbull lodges Yarm plans

Having mulled over the development, the housebuilder has formally applied to build 248 homes on 33 acres to the south west edge of Eaglescliffe in Stockton.

Yarm View would comprise six different house types and 20% of the estate would be affordable, with these homes spread out among the development and ranging from two-bed bungalows to three-bed houses.

Other plans for the site include housing for elderly people, a village green, a children’s play area, two water basins, and parkland.

The site is bounded by Aislaby Road to the south, Nelly Burdon’s Beck to the east, beyond which is Eaglescliffe, and housing developments to the north.

The market town is receiving a lot of attention from housing developers at the moment, which has resulted in fierce opposition from resident groups.

Plans from Taylor Wimpey to build 600 homes in Yarm have already raised more than 400 objections.

Meanwhile, Gladman Developments is looking to build 495 homes off Green Lane, Miller is considering 376 homes, and Banks recently broke ground on its 109-home Cornfields site.
