Beck is a highly experienced economist with a strong track record across microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, forecasting and policy advisory work in both the public and private sectors. He began his career at HM Treasury, where he spent more than a decade advising on economic policy issues. He went on to hold senior roles at Capital Economics and Oxford Economics, serving as lead UK economist and establishing himself as a respected voice on the UK economy. Beck was subsequently appointed chief economic advisor to the EY ITEM Club, one of the UK’s most influential economic forecasting groups, where he led the development of UK economic forecasts and provided authoritative commentary on economic trends, risks and policy developments.
