Homes by Esh secures planning consent for 49-home Sunderland scheme

Hellens Residential will invest £27m in the first phase of development on the outskirts of Darlington, delivering a mix of apartments, bungalows, and family homes as part of the wider scheme.

The unit is one of the first collaborations of its kind in England and the largest to be established in the North East, and will focus on unlocking complex development sites and speeding up the delivery of major schemes.

The London-headquartered UK REIT has beaten Frasers Group to the punch and entered into exclusive talks to acquire the 2m sq ft shopping mall in Gateshead.

Part of the wider Founders Place regeneratin scheme in central Newcastle, the 79-home neighbourhood is being delivered in partnership with the council in the historic Stephenson Quarter.
