A major new freight and aviation-linked development could be on the way south of Newcastle International Airport, following a formal request for a scoping opinion submitted to the council.

Arlington and Homes England’s £300m, 126-acre West Hartford Park on the edge of Cramlington will deliver manufacturing and logistics space, supporting the expansion of the Port of Blyth. The scheme includes plans for 1 million sq ft of industrial space, with units ranging from 175,000 to 530,000 sq ft, alongside offices, retail, education facilities, a petrol station, and R&D space.
