Newcastle’s Central Square South sold for £12m

A demolition request has been submitted to North Tyneside Council for the removal of the Shepherd Offshore building adjacent to the college, to make way for a £8.5m educational facility to boost the region’s credentials as a green energy hotspot. 

The group’s order book has also swelled to £19.1bn over the last 12 months, while revenue rose 10% to more than £5bn.

Robertson Construction is carrying out refurbishment works at the 140,000 sq ft office development on Gateshead Quays, which will be renamed Baltic Works on completion in May. 

Following the announcement of a £3.4m injection from the North East Combined Authority into the project, Capital&Centric has released more details of its plans for the grade two-listed building. 

The North East Combined Authority will invest the money in preparing derelict or vacant brownfield sites to create 1,122 homes in Northumberland, Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, and Sunderland.
