Robertson lines up Grainger Market works

Almost £4.5m of investment from the North East Combined Authority’s brownfield fund has been approved for the regeneration of the former mining village in East Durham.

The housing developer is working with Karbon Homes and Northumberland County Council to build the 83-bed project, which will provide accommodation with 24/7 care for residents with varying degrees of support needs.

Gareth Jones has been appointed as group managing director of the Northern and Midlands construction firm, stepping up from a divisional managing director role.

The last-mile logistics developer has signed a 10-year lease in South Tyneside with the e-commerce firm, which works with consumer goods brands.  

The law firm is playing a crucial role in shaping some of the region’s largest regeneration schemes and has chosen Place North to help support its mission to create a positive future for the North.

A £5m investment programme is set to complete, with the city centre pub refurbished, and an adjoining hotel block due to open in November.  

The latest Local Transport Plan for the North East has suggested a £34m demolition and construction of a smaller transport hub for the town’s bus and metro systems.
