Esh completes brickwork on Eston Precinct redevelopment
The construction firm has completed the external brickwork and installed the curtain walling on the scheme, which it is delivering for Redcar & Cleveland Council and will provide 14,650 sq ft of retail space across seven units.
More than 50,000 bricks have been laid on the redevelopment, with the Redcar & Cleveland scheme now moving into its next phase of construction.
A total of 21 curtain walling units have also been installed, with colour-matched finishing panels completing the building envelope.
Work is now progressing on security roller shutters, external paving, and the dock leveller, while preparations are under way for the rear service yard, including kerbing and drainage.
Internal fit-out is also progressing across units three to seven, with plasterboard partitions, sanitaryware, and suspended ceilings being installed alongside mechanical and electrical first-fix works.
The wider scheme will include new paving, trees, benches, and upgraded lighting and power infrastructure, with the completed precinct intended to accommodate events and markets.
Esh is working with Identity Consult, SPACE Architects, Portland Consulting Engineers, and Fairhurst on the scheme, which is being funded by the UK Government and Tees Valley Combined Authority.
Esh Construction was appointed to deliver the project by the council in June 2025, following which the existing precinct was demolished.
