Summers-Inman completes Bank House fit-out
The consultancy project-managed the refurbishment of 10,000 sq ft for tech firm Neptune North, with design and build contractor ADT Workplace undertaking a 12-week programme.
The 207-foot grade A office building is part of the Pilgrim Street project, designed by Ryder Architecture and built by Bowmer + Kirkland.
Avison Young and Knight Frank are joint letting agents for the building, which is 80% let, and other occupiers include Cundall, DAC Beachcroft, Lycetts, Barclays, and Knights.
Neptune North specialises in providing software development and consulting services to businesses operating in the financial services and alternative investment markets.
The firm has now moved in and will occupy the eighth floor of the Category A/BREEAM excellent building.
The Pilgrim Street development will deliver more than 750,000 sq ft of grade A offices, a new public square, F&B offerings, and a five-star hotel.
Commenting on Summers-Inman’s appointment, associate director and project lead, Andy Rapmund, said: “We have plenty of similar experience on both large and small projects up and down the country, so we were delighted to be recommended for this project.
“We began with a shell and floorplate and from this blank canvas a high quality, ergonomic, and attractive modern office and work space has been created in the heart of the city.
“ADT Workplace recently undertook a similar fit-out within Bank House, so its team was well versed with the way the building operates and how to minimise disruption and noise within the building, while still working to programme.
“I am pleased to report that the project has gone extremely well, thanks also to building managers, Avison Young, who have been a tremendous help.”
Neptune’s chief executive James Beard, said: “In our bid to attract leading software developers and data engineers to Newcastle, we have put a great deal of thought into the design of our new office accommodation and now that the fit out is complete, we have a first-class working environment.
“It is vital we can provide a workplace of an exceptional standard as we continue to recruit talented candidates from across the UK and overseas.”
Mike Millward, commercial manager at ADT Workspace, said: “With only a 12-week programme, we were able to build on the experience of working on a similar project elsewhere in the building, so we were able to hit the ground running with this one.”
