The CGIs show snapshots of what the mixed-use development on the edge of Newcastle city centre could look like, transforming the brownfield land from a disused goods yard into a neighbourhood of up to 2,500 homes.
FaulknerBrowns is the lead architect on the project, working alongside Network Rail, Homes England, Newcastle City Council, and the North East Combined Authority to regenerate the strategically placed plot of land, which is located close to Central Station and the River Tyne.
Large parcels of the land are already owned by Network Rail and Homes England, which plans to build around 1,100 homes on the agency-owned Quayside West site in Newcastle, with the possibility of this increasing to around 2,500 homes via additional acquisitions.
Plans for the 50-acre, £950m site also include up to 161,500 sq ft of commercial space.

Newcastle City Council leader, Cllr Karen Kilgour, said: “It is fantastic to see a glimpse of what the Forth Yards site could look like upon completion of this project.
“It is the last undeveloped parcel of brownfield land on the city centre footprint and this project will create housing, jobs and skills to benefit residents in every corner of the city.”
North East Mayor Kim McGuinness said: “Forth Yards has been left mostly unused for 20 years, a wasted opportunity overlooking the Tyne and close to Newcastle city centre.
“It is exactly the kind of land we should be putting homes for local people on, and I am working hard with the leader of Newcastle City Council on doing just that by unlocking the finance from Government we need to prepare the site for development.
“We’re showing that given the right tools the North East will get on with the job, building quality and affordable new homes in County Durham, in Sunderland, in South Shields and now with this vision for Newcastle.”
