Gentoo appoints contractors on £170m Sunderland framework

Esh Construction, PHS Solutions, and RE:GEN will deliver a decade-long series of internal improvements to thousands of homes across the city.

Planned works include the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, and electric rewiring, and around £36.5m will be spent in the first three years on around 3,000 homes.

The appointment is part of Gentoo’s ‘Gentogether’ partnering model, which aims to improve long-term collaboration and remove standard competitive tendering.

The programme also looks to boost business for North East companies, with all three companies appointed on this project having their headquarters in the region.

Gentoo has brought in 4i Solutions as an independent adviser to oversee innovation and ensure collaborative working across the framework.
