Hart Reservoir land considered for resi-scheme

Persimmon’s plans for 70-homes on the site of a former reservoir off Hart Lane will be considered by Hartlepool council, with a recommendation to approve.

The 10-acre plot of land has two disused reservoirs, which were drained in 2019 and have been infilled.

Persimmon’s plans focus on the smaller reservoir land and comprise 46 four-bedroom and 24 five-bedroom homes.

Each house would have a private back garden and driveway, and a children’s play area will be in the centre of the estate.

In terms of landscaping, the council’s report on the developer’s plans commended it as “an excellent example of a developer using land within their ownership to deliver BNG,” and plans include planting native shrubs, trees, and wildflowers, as well as having tree-lined streets, hedgerows, and ornamental planting.

An on-site watercourse will be retained and is described as “integral to the biodiversity offer.”
