Plans in for Gladman’s 495-home Yarm development
Following public consultations held in September, the developer has submitted its application to Stockton-on-Tees Council, adding to the flurry of new housing proposed for the market town.
The 57-acre site on land to the north of Green Lane sits at the south western edge of Yarm and is currently made up of several agricultural fields.
Design and environmental practice FPCR has worked on the scheme.
The proposed development seeks to deliver up to 495 dwellings, with public open space, landscaping, and a sustainable drainage system.
Yarm is receiving a lot of attention from housing developers at the moment, which has resulted in fierce opposition from resident groups.
Plans from Taylor Wimpey to build 600 homes have already raised more than 400 objections. while Miller is looking to build 376 homes, VB Turnbull up to 255 homes, and Banks recently broke ground on its 109-home Cornfields site.
Gladman has highlighted how its proposed site sits within a residential area with the Morley Carr estate to the east, and argues that it will contribute towards meeting the housing needs of the local area.
