Green light for Stockton homes
Persimmon has been granted permission to build 58 more homes at its Whitewater Glade estate, the third phase of a wider redevelopment on the town centre brownfield site.
In the first two phases, 311 homes have previously been built and the aim is for the first homes to be ready in 2027.
Properties will range from two- to three-bed homes in a mix of detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses.
In terms of landscaping, the site will have green spaces, walking routes, cycle routes, and bird and bat boxes.
The Whitewater Glade development is not Persimmon’s first foray into Stockton, with the housebuilder also recently applying to add 156 homes to the town’s housing stock on 26-acres of land at Norton Golf Course.
Located south east of Buckthorn Crescent, the landscape-led scheme will retain half of the plot as public open space, with features such as ponds, 114 newly planted trees, and hedgehog highways.
Richard Holland, Persimmon Teesside land director, said: “We are delighted the next stage of this development has been approved.
“New homes are needed and we are proud to play our part in providing new homes for local people.”
