Private equity snaps up ECL

Newcastle-based environmental consultancy, ECL, has been sold to Celnor Group’s expanding safety and compliance division.

ECL is 25 years old and offers specialist environmental compliance and testing services to industrial sectors in the UK and overseas.

Simon Parrington, CEO and founder of Celnor, said: “ECL is an outstanding business with an excellent reputation for technical expertise, innovation and customer service. London-based Celnor was founded in 2023 by Simon Parrington and is backed by Inflexion Private Equity. The group now turns over £275m and employs 2,300 people.
