Stockton to consider 400 homes at Harrowgate Lane
At its planning meeting on Wednesday, the council will consider a plethora of applications relating to land at Tithebarns Fields in Bishopgarth, including an application for reserved matters on a 230-home scheme, a 110-home scheme, and full planning permission for 54 homes.
Outline permission has already been granted for up to 340 homes on the land (14/2291/EIS), and now Spawforths has submitted an application on behalf of Berkeley DeVeer for reserved matters for phases 1, 2, and 3.
This will consist of 230 homes, landscaping, and highway access.
Phases 4 and 5 will consist of 110 homes.
Avant Homes will be the main contractor for all the above mentioned projects.
The site, Tithebarn Fields, is a 16.5-acre agricultural field located to the west of Harrgate Lane, to the north west of Stockton.
The houses will form part of a wider push in the area for new homes, such as the nearby Summerville Meadows development.
The £170m Summerville Meadows development is being constructed on a site off Harrowgate Lane, which, over the next seven years, will bring almost 700 mixed-tenure homes to the market.
In total, these developments will form the Stockton West Urban Extension, which will total around 2,150 new homes.
The three applications being considered on Wednesday are:
