Summers-Inman picked up by Bellrock Group
Described as a provider of tech-enabled property services, Bellrock has acquired the business and assets of the Newcastle-headquartered construction and property consultancy.
Founded in 2013, Bellrock is backed by Sun Capital Partners.
Headquartered in London, it has grown through a series of investments and now operates from 11 UK offices with a team of 1,800. Bellrock’s aim is to deliver integrated, data-driven solutions that improve performance, compliance and value across the built environment.
Clients include NHS trusts, universities, government bodies, Costa, Pizza Express and Marks & Spencer.
Summers-Inman has a long-established reputation for delivering quantity surveying, project management and cost consultancy services across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, commercial and residential.
The firm has recently been named to the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium, and has also landed work with Sheffield University. The firm is working with Strata on a £37m housing scheme in Beverley, and is engaged at the Natural History Museum, London.
As well as the Newcastle head office, Summers-Inman works from seven UK offices, including one in Teesside. The firm now has a headcount of around 130.
David Cronje, managing director of Summers-Inman, said: “This acquisition is a transformative step for Summers-Inman. By combining our expertise and resources with Bellrock, we’re enhancing our capabilities and broadening our service offerings across the UK.
“This partnership will unlock new opportunities for growth, allow us to better serve our clients and strengthen our position in the marketplace. We’re excited about the synergies this collaboration will bring and look forward to the continued success and innovation it will drive.”
The firm said that by joining Bellrock, it can expand its service offerings, particularly in technology, property consultancy, fire consultancy and energy services, and diversify its services on a national scale, stating that “we are creating a new reality with 400 consulting experts” in a move that will honour Summers-Inman’s heritage and strengthen its ability.
Law firm DWF advised on all legal aspects of the transaction. Corporate partner and global head of corporate Frank Shephard said: “We are pleased to have again supported Bellrock on this latest strategic acquisition.
Summers-Inman is a respected and well-established business, and this deal reflects Bellrock’s ongoing commitment to growth and investment in high-quality technical services and the continued growth of its consulting division.”
Piers Pegrum, head of M&A at Bellrock Group, said: “The acquisition of Summers Inman represents an important step in our strategy to strengthen and grow our professional services capability.
“Their reputation, technical expertise and sector reach align well with our vision for Bellrock, and we are excited about the opportunities this partnership will unlock. We’re grateful to the DWF team for their commercially focused and pragmatic advice throughout the transaction.”
