VB Turnbull considers Yarm development

The Durham-based housebuilder wants to build up to 255 homes in the Stockton-on-Tees town, on 33 acres to the south west edge of Eaglescliffe.

The site is bounded by Aislaby Road to the south, Nelly Burdon’s Beck to the east, beyond which is Eaglescliffe, and housing developments to the north.

Named Yarm View, the estate would also include open spaces, landscaping, and road infrastructure and following a public consultation, VB Turnbull will submit a formal application for the site.

The proposal comes at as residents of Yarm continue to try to block a 600-home Taylor Wimpey development on land south of Green Lane.

This development has focused on creating landscape corridors to the east and south of the site, and will include a new park area for residents and non-residents.

Around 20% of the houses will be affordable and accessible homes designed for older people is also proposed.

The public consultation can be accessed here until 12 August.
