Homes by Carlton to build 46-house estate in County Durham
Saxon Vale represents a £13m investment and forms part of a £60m commitment by the developer to deliver homes throughout the North East.
The regional homebuilder has now acquired the land in Sadberge, for a development offering a mix of three, four and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.
Construction is due to start on site later this year.
The development is in partnership with Karbon Homes’ Next Level Developments, who will be providing the full funding package for the development.
Emma Worth, development manager at Homes by Carlton, said: “With Saxon Vale following closely behind our Woodberry Park in Staindrop and Beauford Park in Witton Gilbert announcements, we’re making excellent progress on delivering on our £60m commitment to deliver beautiful new homes in the region.
“Building in sought-after locations that have much to offer home buyers – from idyllic countryside surroundings to closeness to larger towns and cities – is imperative to us, and I believe Sadberge is yet another example of this.
“As we move through 2024 and beyond, we will deliver our pipeline of 500 new homes and continue to add to it through strategic land acquisition.”
Sarah Robson, director of development at Karbon Homes, said: “Through Next Level Developments, Karbon Homes’ joint venture funding arm, we are committed to supporting regional housebuilders in the development of much-needed new homes. The returns from this then support Karbon Homes’ continued investment in our affordable homes programme.”
