Warehouses are no longer the freezing, utilitarian buildings of the 1980s – today’s industrial and logistics facilities target occupiers who demand strong sustainability credentials, quality offices, and green spaces, according to Stuart Murray, national customer development and leasing director at Harworth.

Delivered ahead of schedule in a project spearheaded by Avison Young, the 463,000 sq ft office in Newcastle’s Pilgrim’s Quarter can now be handed over. 

Local entrepreneur Liam Hunt expects to start construction on phase one of the 26,500 sq ft scheme in January, delivering seven units over an estimated 12-month programme. 

The housebuilder is holding public consultations ahead of submitting plans for a development to the south east of the town, on a site bordered by the A689 and Stockton Road. 

Knight Frank has been appointed by Palace Capital to manage 24,000 sq ft of development works at the office building, upgrading the space to grade A standards.

The £10.7m scheme will see the demolition of houses on Third, Fourth, and Fifth streets, to be replaced with more than 100 homes.
