Trackwork acquires £3m Faverdale Industrial Estate property

The rail infrastructure company has bought Innovation House, which stands on a five acre site within the Darlington business park, from Tekmar Group and will use it to house its subsidiary railway business Henry Williams.

Trackwork acquired Henry Williams last year, and is now moving the staff from its former Darlington base in Dodsworth Street over to the larger premises.

Innovation House was previously occupied by Subsea Innovation, part of the Tekmar Group, and has been vacant since 2024.

The purchase price of £2.84m was negotiated for Tekmar by Portland Dodds Brown. Richard Wilson, a partner at the firm, said: “The client received its asking price, a high-quality industrial unit will be brought back into use, and an important part of Darlington’s railway heritage is retained in the town.”
