Caddick opens North East office
The construction arm of the Yorkshire-headquartered group has taken 2,000 sq ft in Durham as it looks to expand into the region, broadening its already well-established North West and Yorkshire presence.
Durham County Council deputy leader, Cllr Richard Bell joined the opening, which was also attended by Caddick Group founder and Chairman, Paul Caddick MBE, who launched the construction and civil engineering business in 1979.
Located in Adelaide House, Belmont Business Park, the move follows the appointments of Steve Ford as regional managing director for Caddick Construction North East & Yorkshire and Simon Martin as managing director for Caddick Civil Engineering, both of which are tasked with growing the business’ regional pipeline.
Caddick Civil Engineering will also look to serve customers in the North East, with services including groundwork and land remediation for brownfield sites.
Caddick is well-known in Yorkshire for its charitable wok through the Leeds Rhinos Foundation, and has signalled its intent to continue having an impact in the regions it operates in by raising more than £20,000 for local charity, St. Cuthbert’s.
Caddick’s new premises in Durham have undergone a fit-out programme ahead of occupancy, with new features established to mirror the business’ newly launched headquarters at Calder House in Wakefield.
Paul Dodsworth, group managing director at Caddick, commented: “There is a healthy pipeline of construction work in the region, and we’re very proud to bring our capabilities, knowledge and experience to this thriving market.
“St. Cuthbert’s Hospice is a very special place for me personally and I am proud of the funds our people and our business has fundraised to support the local community and families living with life-limiting illnesses.”
Steve Ford, regional managing director of Caddick Construction Yorkshire and North East, added: “The conversations we are having, and the response we have so far seen in the North East market, have proven the appetite and demand for our services in the region, and we’re very proud to cement our presence in the North East with our new Durham office.”
Simon Martin, managing director of Caddick Civil Engineering, said: “The Government has some very bold housing targets, and keeping pace with these ambitions is reliant on unlocking brownfield regeneration.
“Broadening our geographical reach into the North East will allow us to serve this growing pipeline with our knowledge and experience of complex land remediation.”
