Invest Newcastle prepares for MIPIM and UKREiiF

Plans to promote the city and region at the real estate conferences in 2024 are gathering pace, with the programme now officially launched.

Invest Newcastle, part of NewcastleGateshead Initiative, is looking to build on its record of leading large-scale delegations to MIPIM in Cannes and more recently to UKREiiF in Leeds, bringing together public and private sector partners from the region to showcase investment and development opportunities on a global stage.

With the 2024 iteration to take place across 12 and 15 March 2024, MIPIM brings together key players in the global property industry, offers access to an unrivalled pipeline of development projects and sources of capital.

Newcastle’s presence amongst other UK cities and regions, including London, Manchester, Liverpool and Belfast, comes with the goal of creating a more sustainable, healthier and liveable place for all, Invest Newcastle said.

UKREiiF, which again takes place in Leeds in May, was a successful event for the region this year connecting businesses, investors, local authorities and government departments.

Invest Newcastle will again host a programme of events in its pavilion in partnership with sponsors and city partners.

Jennifer Hartley, director of Invest Newcastle, NGI, said: “These events are an opportunity to meet and engage with some of the real estate world’s leading influencers and decision-makers.

“It’s incredibly important that Newcastle and the wider region is among other key global cities at MIPIM and UKREiiF and showcasing what makes us the ideal place to invest in.

“In the past we’ve welcomed government ministers, city ambassadors and institutional investors to our stand, who have a keen interest in the opportunities here. MIPIM and UKREiiF provide us with a captive audience and have historically led to some really big investment wins for the area.

“We’ve got ambitions to make 2024 our biggest and best year yet and we encourage businesses that are passionate about the region and being part of its story of transformation to get in touch and join us.”

Avison Young and Pradera Lateral are among the first private sector companies to sponsor the Invest Newcastle delegation.

Gordon Hewling, regional managing director, Avison Young, said: “Avison Young is delighted to continue its support of the Invest Newcastle delegation at MIPIM 2024.

“We are witnessing the transition from devolution of political powers to the evolution of local growth – encouraging new industries, new uses for old spaces and new neighbourhoods. Leadership and partnerships between regions, towns and cities, and between the public and private sector, has never been more important.

“Working with Invest Newcastle and its partners at MIPIM and beyond aligns perfectly with our public sector reputation and regional connections, allowing us to focus on what drives growth, the schemes shaping investment opportunities and how we can work together to build a prosperous and sustainable future for the region.”

Philip Lunn, managing director of Pradera Lateral, asset manager of Eldon Square, said: “We are proud to be supporting the Invest Newcastle delegation and collaborating with city partners at MIPIM to present the full breadth of development opportunities across the city.

“As the asset managers of Eldon Square, we are incredibly excited about ongoing developments within the city centre that will provide a more dynamic retail and hospitality offer for residents and visitors.

“We look forward to sharing more about our plans on the biggest stage at MIPIM in 2024.”
