Jones joins RWO
The North East geotechnical and ground engineering specialist has appointed Neil Jones as associate director.
Daniel Tansley has also joined the firm as a graduate geologist.
With more than 35 years’ experience and expertise at firms such as Sirius and Atkins, Jones, a chartered engineer and geologist, will be responsible for the design and preparation of geotechnical design solutions for clients including national housebuilders and developers as well as new business development, reviewing reports and ensuring technical compliance.
RWO said the appointments come on the back of strong demand for the department’s services as regional and national commercial and residential developers bring forward their investment and regeneration plans.
The firm has offices in Newcastle, Stokesley, and Leeds.
Clients include Persimmon Homes North East, Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson Homes, Vistry (North East & Yorkshire) and York-based Mulgrave Properties as well as RWO Geotechnical’s first involvement in the Teesworks Freeport development and the data centre sector.
Department head and director Chris Rudd said: “We are rapidly building an experienced and dedicated geotechnical team and Neil and Dan will be a big addition to this.
“Neil’s geotechnical design, industry experience and proven mentoring skills make him an invaluable addition to our exceptional team. With comprehensive ground investigation skills and expertise, we look forward to his contributions in continuing to elevate our capabilities across the UK.”
By the end of this year, the geotechnical department expects to have secured sales growth of £700,000 from a standing start in late 2022 and is on target to achieve £1m in revenues by 2026.
