North Tyneside Council has approved close to 200 homes off Station Road, the next phase of the Fallow Park development.

Persimmon’s Fallow Park is located next to the Rising Sun country park close to the A19.

Members of North Tyneside’s planning committee voted unanimously to approve the 199-home plans, which will include apartments, terraces, semi-detached and detached homes.

Outline approval was granted in 2018 for up to 593 homes on the Fallow Park land, with the caveat that 25% of them should be transferred to a housing provider or sold at a discount rate.

Persimmon said it is providing more than £3.8m towards improvements in local education, sports and healthcare provision, along with a travel plan.

Richard Cook, land director at Persimmon North East said: ‘We’re pleased that committee members have voted to reaffirm the Council’s recommendation for approval.

“This development will provide a range of house types for young people, families and downsizers alike with excellent access to local amenities.

“In addition to delivering much needed quality new housing, approval of these plans secures further investment in North Tyneside.”
