Tritax secures consent for phase two of Symmetry Park Darlington
At the same time as securing permission for a further 490,000 sq ft of industrial space, the developer has signed a 140,000 sq ft pre-let with supply chain leader Martin Brower on an existing facility.
Tritax Big Box Developments was given the green light to extend the park a few weeks ago, with permission granted for three new facilities comprising 165,000 sq ft, 270,000 sq ft, and 55,000 sq ft.
These will be developed on a design and build basis, to BREEAM Excellent and net-zero carbon in construction standards.
Meanwhile, Martin Brower has signed a 20-year lease on a 138,250 sq ft unit and was advised by JLL.
Symmetry Park Darlington was represented by Colliers International, Gent Visick, and Carter Jonas as joint marketing agents for the site.
Martin Brower’s BREEAM Excellent facility became operational in November and around 220 employees will be employed there.
Symmetry Park Darlington is next to the A66, to the east of Darlington Town Centre, with direct links to both the A19, A1(M), and to Teesport, 15 miles to the east.
Extending to 90 acres in total, Symmetry Park Darlington is already home to Amazon, which occupies 1,500,000 sq ft facility on a 20-year lease.
