Simon Dew promoted to MD for Yorkshire & North East at Muse

Dew is tasked with overseeing and growing the placemaker’s pipeline in the regions, which includes Baltic Quarter in Gateshead, the Durham Innovation Zone, Bradford City Village, Hull East Bank, and the Wakefield Strategic Regeneration Partnership.

Dew has worked at Muse for more than 15 years, working on long-term regeneration projects across towns and cities in the North.

Joining as development director, he was most recently director of development management before his promotion this month, which kicks in with immediate effect.

In his new role as managing director for Yorkshire & the North East, Dew will be speaking at Place’s North East Development Update at St James’ Park in Newcastle this June, giving valuable insight into ongoing regeneration schemes throughout the region.

With 30 years’ experience in property acquisition and place‑making, he will now lead the team as it progresses Muse’s growing pipeline across Yorkshire and the North East.

Phil Mayall, managing director of Muse, said: “Simon embodies what Muse is about. He is always thinking long‑term and putting people at the heart of projects.

“His experience, his energy and his genuine commitment to the communities we work alongside make him an exceptional leader for Yorkshire and the North East.

“We’re delighted to have him step into this role at such an exciting time for the region.”

Dew added: “I’m incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated and talented team. The Yorkshire and North East Region is full of character and opportunity, encompassing major towns and cities with evolving neighbourhoods and exciting waterfront locations, where people want to work, live and spend leisure time.

“I’m looking forward to working with both existing and new partners to help shape places that will genuinely improve people’s lives.”
