Thursday 30 April: City Living Summit
Cities have a vital role to play in residential delivery to help address the housing crisis. This event will explore what the likes of Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle will look like in the future, how they need to adapt to become more liveable, and where build-to-rent, student accommodation, and social housing fit in. Tuesday 19 May: UKREiiF Tuesday Breakfast | The Great North: One year on
“The North’s moment is now.” Those were the words that anchored the Great North’s launch at UKREiiF in 2025. It has now been a year since the region’s Mayors agreed to come together to fight for the North on a national and global level. Join Place North as we look into what the Great North has been up to and what plans have been put in place to lean into the region’s potential to add another £118bn to the UK economy. Thursday 21 May: Greater Manchester Wellbeing Run & Walk
Join Place North and Nick Rusling, former owner of the Manchester Marathon, for the first-ever Greater Manchester Wellbeing Series – a year-long campaign designed to boost workplace wellbeing across the city region. The series kicks off with a 5.5km run and 2km walk at Heaton Park on 21 May, followed by a virtual guided meditation day on 22 October. Teams of three or more from the built environment are invited to take part. Participation is £45 per team member, including entry to both activities and year-round wellbeing resources.
Thursday 11 June: North East Emerging Development Hotspots
From clean energy to the creative industries, to advanced manufacturing and digital defence – the sectors being targeted by NECA and Teesside are varied and ambitious. Where are the development sites that will benefit from these plans? This event will bring you up to speed with what – and where – the local authorities are targeting.
