Green light for Gosforth Business Park
Mandale Investments can go ahead with plans for 37 industrial units on a four-acre patch of land on the estate.
North Tyneside approved the application at its planning meeting this week, which also includes landscaping and the creation of a substation and meter rooms.
ELG Planning has been working on the project, along with architect Wardman Brown.
Previously, the land had permission for 133 affordable homes, although the application was withdrawn in 2022.
The units will be split into two types: single storey ‘factory’ units, with 2,300 sq ft, and two-storey ‘hybrid’ units, with 1,600 sq ft in total.
Gosforth Business Park was developed by Persimmon Homes and Rokeby Developments almost 25 years ago.
The park is accessed by Salters Lane, part of the A189 between Benton and Northumberland, linking directly with the A19.
The site is situated three miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne city centre, 1.6 miles north west of Gosforth, 0.8 miles north of Longbenton, and two miles south west of Killingworth.
