Phase three of Hartlepool’s Quarry Farm set for approval 

Ørsted has taken delivery of the first six of 197 monopiles for its offshore wind farm at its 3.3m sq ft storage site at Steel River Quay in Teesworks. 

National Highways has signed a 29,500 sq ft pre-let at the 560,000 sq ft industrial estate fronting the A19 in Stockton-on-Tees.

Group Ginger assembled a team to oversee the £6.3m restoration of the landmark in June 2024, and now contractor Walter Thompson will redevelop the grade two-listed building into office space within the town’s Boho Zone. 

The Crown Square scheme in Middlesbrough has been on hold since October due to viability concerns and now six options have been laid out to attempt to revive the project, which was originally due to deliver more than 1,500 homes and a new city gateway. 

The Tees Valley Mayor has appointed cllr Pamela Hargreaves as the chair of the development arm of the council, replacing Mark Robinson, whose term as chair has been formally concluded.

The £833m, government-backed gas power station in Redcar, built on the site of a former steelworks, has attracted criticism after awarding a 7,000-tonne steel contract to a Chinese firm.

The £15m facility is being constructed by main contractor Britcon next to Stockton Riverside College in Thornaby, and will provide the North East Training Alliance with a specialist engineering academy within the campus. 

The developer is delivering a 775,000 sq ft industrial and logistics hub in Stockton-on-Tees in partnership with the council, and has appointed Seymour Civil Engineering as main contractor. 

Persimmon has been granted permission to build 58 more homes at its Whitewater Glade estate, the third phase of a wider redevelopment on the town centre brownfield site.
