Advance Northumberland to redevelop Manor Walks

The regeneration arm of the council has been working with GSSArchitecture on proposals for Cramlington’s shopping centre.

The proposals form part of a longer-term vision for Manor Walks, focused on improving the visitor experience while broadening the centre’s retail and leisure offer.

Early concepts include a new western mall entrance and the creation of a town square designed to host community events and activities.

Advance Northumberland said feedback from the consultation will help inform the next stage of the proposals, with input from residents and retailers expected to play a key role in shaping the emerging plans.

Steven Harrison, chief executive of Advance Northumberland, said: “These Western Entrance proposals represent an exciting opportunity to enhance the visitor experience, strengthen the retail offer and create new spaces that bring people together.

“We want to hear directly from residents, businesses and visitors so that their views help shape the future vision for Manor Walks Shopping Centre. I would encourage everyone with an interest in the centre to take the opportunity to share their feedback.”

The drop-in sessions will take place at the former Vodafone unit in Northumbria House, next to Greggs in the shopping centre’s Central Mall, from 3pm to 6pm on Wednesday 15 July and from 2pm to 6pm on Thursday 16 July.
